Every woman who has an abortion will feel differently about her experience. Some will feel relief, while others will struggle to find a “new normal” and readjust to daily life. Other women might even feel at peace about their choice, but as the weeks and months go by, they might develop new concerns or challenges.
Care Net Pregnancy Center of Wayne County believes every woman (and man) who has suffered from an abortion deserves hope, healing, and love. And we know that time doesn’t necessarily heal your pain; whether you experienced an abortion recently or years ago, your struggles are valid.
Am I Alone?
Post-abortion feelings look different for everyone, but the National Institutes of Health report that some women experience mental health effects like depression, anxiety, and grief. If you’re struggling, know you aren’t the first to have these feelings, but help is available.
Life after an abortion can feel both isolating and overwhelming. You may not know what resources you need or who to speak with. That’s where we come in.
Abortion Recovery Program
Care Net Pregnancy Center of Wayne County provides a free, private abortion recovery program. Our “Forgiven and Set Free” Bible study consists of weekly individual or group meetings for a total of 8-10 weeks.
This program will remind you that you aren’t alone and can take that first step toward healing. If you have been affected by a past abortion and/or are searching for forgiveness, this is for you.
You’ll learn about topics such as depression, denial, and acceptance. You can share your story and (if you choose) find community with others in your situation.
We don’t judge or shame people for their past decisions. You’ll be treated with the compassion and respect you deserve.
